Kostas graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (AUTh) in Greece. He spent more than 25 years at Bristol Veterinary School, as a PhD student, Clinical Pathology Resident, Lecturer and Senior Lecturer. Kostas was also Head of Clinical Pathology at Axiom Veterinary Laboratories and Finn Pathologists and has worked as a Senior Clinical Pathologist and the Scientific Standards Co-ordinator for IDEXX Laboratories UK.

He has published more than 130 scientific papers, research abstracts, professional articles and book chapters, and lectures regularly in the UK and Europe. He is the current President of the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP).

Kostas is passionate about Quality Standards in the laboratory, and the education, training and support of vets, nurses and scientists working in both in-clinic and commercial diagnostic laboratories. He and the Vet Team would like to support the Lab Services in establishing a Clinical Pathology Residency Program, expand range of in-house testing, and support internal veterinary and veterinary nurse CPD programmes.

Elpida Sarvani

Elpida graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Thessaloniki, Greece. After further completing a small-animal internship in her university, she worked as a small animal vet in the UK for six years. Following this, she undertook a residency in Clinical Pathology at the University of Bristol and after completion, she worked as a Clinical Pathologist in VPG Exeter before returning to Langford Veterinary Services, University of Bristol, in 2018 as a Clinical Pathologist, while also being actively involved in the training and supervision of Clinical Pathology interns and residents. She became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (Clinical Pathology) in 2018, and in 2022 also became certified by the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists. While remaining part-time in Langford, she recently joined the Lab Services team, excited to join new and older colleagues, and excited about the opportunity to be part of a growing laboratory service and to be contributing to the support and training of vets, scientists and future residents, something that she is passionate about.

Liam Evans

Quality Manager

Prior to Lab Services Liam worked across diagnostic, sampling and testing Laboratories for over 5 years at The Animal and Plant Health Agency. There he planned, co-ordinated and undertook the delivery of a range of Pathology requirements – including surveillance portfolio work, U.K. Government strategic research and commercial contracts. Adjacent to this, his responsibilities included ensuring adherence to the relative legislative and regulatory quality, and health and safety frameworks and requirements for a high security bio-containment facility. As part of U.K Government emergency measures, Liam has been selected for several emergency outbreak teams – including secondment for public and NHS SARS-CoV-2 testing and the ongoing Avian Influenza response. Liam holds a first class BSc in Forensic Science.

Nichola Tinsley

Nichola graduated with an Applied Biomedical Science degree in 2012, and completed her MSc in Biomedical Science in 2021. Nichola has over ten years’ experience as a Biomedical Scientist in both public and private sectors. As Quality Manager, Nichola is responsible for ensuring Lab Services complies with the ISO 17025:2017 standard

Olga Zadic

Olga studied Medicine in the Republic of Moldova for 6 years before undertaking a further qualification in Laboratory Medicine (2016). Olga has 3 years' experience as a BMS.

Donald Akataobi

Donald has multi-disciplinary experience over many years working in human healthcare, most extensively in Haematology. In his most recent role, he worked as Senior Biomedical Scientist in a busy clinical diagnostic laboratory in Nigeria. He joined our Haematology Team in 2022.

Monique Donnelly

Monique qualified as a Biomedical Technologist from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. She has completed specialisations in Haematology and Clinical Pathology. She worked as Deputy Head of a multi-disciplinary Clinical Trial laboratory for 5 years before moving into an International medical diagnostics company for 14 years. She has joined the Haematology team at Lab Services in 2022.

Chris has experience over many years working in human healthcare, most extensively in Biochemistry and Quality Management. His most recent role was Laboratory Manager of a busy diagnostic laboratory in Nigeria. He joined the Biochemistry Team at Lab Services in 2022.

Bolarinwa Oladimeji

I have a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science from the department of biomedical sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Oyo state, Nigeria where I graduated with second class upper division with honors. I have a certificate training in basic and clinical toxicology at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. Also, I have a master's degree in biomedical sciences (PhD grade) from the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, Germany. I am a licensed biomedical scientist in Nigeria with the medical laboratory science council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and the health and care professional council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom. I have a ten year post graduate working experience as a biomedical scientist in Nigeria, Germany and the United kingdom.

In Nigeria, I worked as a biomedical scientist (clinical biochemistry) at the University College Hospital Ibadan, Federal Medical Center Owo and the head of diagnostic services at Fitrah diagnostics, Kano. While in Germany, I worked at the genetic engineering and stem cell culture unit as a research assistant at the department of natural sciences, University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in the field of regenerative medicine (stem cell) and molecular biology. Furthermore, I worked with Centogene Biotech company located in cologne as a medical technologist and a senior public health consultant with Europe-Africa solutions in Bonn, before I relocated to the United Kingdom where I worked as a senior biomedical scientist across several NHS laboratories namely in Winchester, Bedford and Portsmouth mostly in the field of haematology.

My main areas of interest are diagnostic research principally involving the gut microbiome and molecular markers for infectious disease investigation.
